Village One

Village One is a non governmental organization (NGO) in the process of becoming a 501c3 organization on a non-denominational mission to assist up to 200 children of Kibera, Nairobi in attaining clean water and a food, at least once a day.

  • Mission Exceeded

Three years ago a promise was made. Cedric Singleton promised to return to Kibera, the second largest slum in Africa, to build a kitchen that would feed 150 children one meal per day.

Upon arrival to Kibera this May, there was a $5,600 budget to build a single kitchen. The sum total of $5,600 translates to 450,000 shillings. Within the nine days that Village One, HuMissions and OccupyLove have been in Kibera we constructed a two-story building that holds a cafeteria, dorm, AND classroom. All of this is in addition to the initial kitchen endeavor!

Can’t believe it?! It’s true. -In fact, they thought the building would only be one story at 10 feet by 20 feet. The complete building is a two-story 16’x40’ structure made of aluminum and wood. The classroom is upstairs, with a cafeteria downstairs, and a storage facility above the kitchen.

At last contact, Cedric said, “It rained really hard for about ten minutes, but we’re waiting for supplies to hopefully finish the job today.” Wow! -It was 5 p.m. in Kibera, at the time.

There will be another update soon. For now, view photos from the last nine days:::

If you haven’t already, ‘Like’ the page so that you are informed of our next mission::: “Well in Malawi.” ;)

Thanks to donations made from around the world, Kitchen in Kibera has been a TOTAL success!!!

It doesn’t take much to make a difference. We thank you so much for supporting our humble village. Just as there is no ‘I’ in Team, there is only one world, One Village.                              Village One.

    In the Deepest of Gratitude,

    Village One

  • It started as a meeting between three men…
It continues, TODAY, in Kibera, as a mission to bridge the gap between famine and fruit.
Gratefully, we have been joined by Hayon, musician and founder of OccupyLove, and rock star Fos Rock. We all have fruit to share. There is much fruit between us.
                                                                  Fruit of Life.
With your support, we continue to grow. We continue to share the Fruit of Life. One Life. One Love.
